New hair!

Today I finally went to the hairdressers and got a new haircut. It's an a-line bob (sorry, crappy pictures, can't see it properly), quite long-ish. Something I've been wanting to do for a while now. Sure, some(will) hate it, but I'm actually quite content with it. Feels a bit weird and I'm also not sure, what or how many styling options are left for me. Pretty sure I'll figure something out though. Anyway, here are some bad pictures.

Mulle meeldib. Mina ju! :) Ei saanud uue soenguga ühtegi mõistlikku pilti endast, ehk teinekord õnnestub. Igatahes, halvad pildid: (oh issand, mis läikiv nägu. Piinlik.)

Something nice.

I wanted to show off my new tea mug! (yeah, to the whole world, haha) I was actually shopping for groceries when I saw it and I just couldn't leave it there, I had to buy it (luckily it was cheap too).

I think it's kust so pretty. Come on, a cherry print mug, what more can a tea-loving rockabilly girl wish for? Now I can have my morning Earl Grey (or my evening Peppermint, or my life-saving green tea... You get the picture) in style, hehe.

I also bought some candy. I always have found it amusing, that there is a candy named rock'n'roll (not sure in what language it's though!).
See? Oh, and it tastes great too!

Besides that, since I'm on a budget, but still addicted to make up, I bought a really really cheap lipstick (like abnormally cheap, you know?) , which I may or may not review later. I think I actually should review those really cheap cosmetics I sometimes buy, even if it's just for me - if I'll once want ti buy them again and don't remember what are they like (some of them are ok and some suck. It's a kind of a 50% chance).
Ok, enough chit-chat, have a nice day!

Random thought.

Yesterday I started to question myself a bit. I was thinking, do I even have the "right" to call myself a rockabilly girl? Silly, I know. But still... I must admit, rockabilly isn't by far the only genre I listen to. I also don't dress (stereotypically or recognizable to all) rockabilly. I just don't feel like it every day, I really like to have different looks. I'm also lazy, sometimes I just can't be bothered to dress in a particular style at any cost. Well, at least my hair and make up usually falls into the category. Most people just don't really associate those with rockabilly. I mean, that scene/style isn't really widely represented in Tallinn,so people just don't recognize it. Then again I thought...who cares? Who cares what others think of me? I usually don't believe in labels (and still try to label me? :D ), so I can call myself what I want to be, what I feel I am. And I can be anyone I want to be, too! As long as I feel it's right. I may seem like a poser to some, but I guess this is who I am and I am quite content with being just myself.
What do you think? :) Is it normal to label yourself (especially talking about subcultures and styles) or is it just plain wrong?

Anyhow, just wondering. Maybe one day I'll know the answer(s). In the meantime I'll just walk around looking like a really bad Bettie Page impersonator:

Aaah, just joking. I look kinda funny on that. Tried rag curling my hair again, which I haven't done in a while! Not too bad?

Introduction/ What's it all about.

Well hello there! I think it's time to give this blog a good start and maybe tell something about me.
I am a 25-year old young woman living in Tallinn, Estonia. There are some details about me on the right as well. Actually, calling myself a sociology student is a bit of "cheating", because my first year of studies will start in September. Tssshh! :) Anyway, that's not what the blog will be about anyway. After browsing through pages and pages of my favourite vintage/rockabilly/etc blogs I decided I want to write one too. Actually, there aren't enough blogs of that kind here anyway!
So I'll try to keep it related to things I love and am interested in. I'll write about being rockabilly in Estonia, about style, make-up, hairstyles, inspirational people... Of course it will also include my impressions from the university, fascinating moments from my day-to-day life etc. Since I AM a major music geek, I'll probably be throwing in some music-talk (I have quite a wide taste in music, hehe). Also, occasionally you'll probably find a "feminist rant" or a vegetarian recipe in here somewhere.
But most of all... oh well. Me. It's all about me, isn't it? :D It's always about the blogger.

P.S. I thought I would write this in 2 languages, English and Estonian, but I'm not sure how it would work out. I think I'll leave this post as it is and figure it all out later.
