Music Monday

"When the road is dark and cold walk on, fearing not."
I have a confession to make: I absolutely adore Dolly Parton. I know, I know, the woman looks "artificial" and a lot of people are really prejudiced by that (or, as much as I know, even by her genre(s) of music), but I just like her for everything she is. Yeah, speaking of music, her earlier country songs are much more similar to things I'd normally listen to, but I also love her "pop" side. The thing that I like so much about her, is the attitude, the positive message she always seems to be sending out. Her life wasn't always easy, but she has always kept that smile on and her head up and she tries to share it all with people who listen to her songs. She encourages people to deal with difficulties and just to start loving their life. Isn't it something we all need from time to time? I also find it great that she still is an active performer at her age(and a great one, too!).
So without further introduction:

And also this one:

Isn't she inspiring?
Guess I'm going through (yet another one) a rough patch in my life. I have learned that I just need to listen to positive, inspiring, uplifting music when I'm feeling really down. So lately I've been listening to Dolly quite a lot and actually, it is helping :) (I also must admit that music has always had the power to affect my emotions. It's all like a placebo effect, I know, but if it works, it works. )

Anyone else out there trying to deal with their problems with a little help from music? Or, what makes you feel better in general? :)

Back to Dolly, I think there's just one more song I have to include. Not so cheerful, I must say, more like... sad, but still a classic and one of my all-time favorites (there are many covers to this one, good covers as well, you should look them up!):

(oh. ja eestikeelset juttu täna ei tule. Kõik on arusaadav, onju.)
